Making sure that your home WIFI network is secure is important. For able to protect your home WIFI, starts with your router security. Here are a couple ways to protect your home WIFI network:
 
·      Change Your Router Admin Username and Password
First thing to do after get your router is to access the router and change the generic username and password immediately.

·      Change the Network Name
It is the name that’s broadcast from your WIFI to the outside world for so people can find your network.

·      Activate Encryption
It is the ultimate WIFI no-brainer and it is important thing you must do to lock down your wireless.

·      Double Up on Firewalls
Each router has a firewall built in that protects your internal network and you should turn it on as an extra layer of protection if it not automatic activate.

·      Turn Off Guest Networks
Having a guest’s network that does not have an encryption password is nice, but what if you can’t trust them; neighbors and people parked out front.

·      Use a VPN (Virtual Private Network)
It creates a third party server between your device and the Internet that can mask your identity.

·      Update Router Firmware
People always find a security holes in routers all the time to exploits so it is good to update the router firmware.

·      Turn Down the Broadcast Power
A strong WIFI signal could give the neighbors and passer-by easy access. By turn down the Transmit Power Control will make it harder.
